DYW Perth & Kinross encouraged children in P7 to spend a day finding out about the world of work...………

Thomas spent the day finding out/interrogating the team about their different roles that people do in The Purvis Group & also learned lots of new skills.  Our team including:  Construction Director, Finance Director, Hire Controller, Workshop Manager, Business Manager, Health & Safety Manager & Technical Assistant - all shared their wisdom & career top tips!

learning how to read construction drawings & use AutoCAD and Microsoft Project to plan a job

checking out the variety of training & development for the whole group & the importance of Health & Safety 

finding out about the career path from a Trainee Engineer to a Construction Director 

logistics scheduling - seeing how we plan routes & keep track of our vehicle fleet

enjoyed a tour of the workshop & found out how our mechanics fix plant and machinery

sitting on a JS220 excavator and a Vogele Tar layer (supervised!)
