Payroll Assistant (Temporary Maternity Cover)

We're recruiting a full-time experienced payroll assistant (with admin experience) to provide temporary Maternity  cover based at our office in Lochgelly.     

This varied position is a time pressured job and requires attention to detail & confidentiality.  This role will be working on your own & reporting to your manager.

The job involves payroll processing, communicating with all levels, HR paperwork, HMRC communications, pension & apprenticeship reporting and responding to employee queries.

Admin experience is also required as this role includes cash book processing, bank transactions, banking & reporting to directors.  Applicants must be proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word & Excel). 

This position has a February/March 2022 start date to allow for training to be given.

Payroll Assistant (Temporary Leave Cover) - Applicant Information

The Purvis Group has been operating in Fife for over 40 years within the plant hire & construction industry and have an enviable reputation for customer service.

The Payroll position will be based at our HQ in the Avenue, Lochgelly and the successful applicant will be responsible for the weekly & monthly payrolls for 8 companies, with approximately 350 employees, within the Group.       

The key responsibilities of this role are:

 

PAYROLL

Payroll processing

Ensuring all completed in a timely manner

Working to deadlines

Uploading wages to bank for payment

Preparing spreadsheets for managers for payroll processing

Liaising with managers of each company regarding payroll and employees queries

Updating payroll system with new employees and leavers

Pension report uploads

HMRC Statutory returns

Apprentice Claim back paperwork

Updating employees contracts

Responsibility for HR computer programme

 

ADMIN

Cash book entries and posting to accounts programme

Bank and credit card reconciliations on a daily basis

Bank lodgements

Basic monthly reporting to directors

Sales ledger credit applications

 

The successful applicant will be joining a busy & friendly team at our HQ based at Lochview Industrial Estate, The Avenue, Lochgelly, KY5 9HG (a driving licence would be advantageous, but not essential for this post).
