Construction Management Apprenticeship

As a Construction Management Apprentice, you’ll learn about all aspects of site operations plus contractual information & quality systems.  The apprenticeship lasts 3 years (SCQF level 6).

 

Key duties (full training provided): 

Liaising with site managers & all levels of staff

Document Control – issue drawings to all sites & manage drawing register

Maintaining & uploading information to SharePoint

Archiving digital data

Co-ordinating & storing data (scanning, filing and archiving data)

Compiling progress reports for all sites

Producing Operations & Maintenance Manuals

Carry out site inspections

Read & analyse drawings

Record meeting minutes

Participate in meetings on site & in a virtual setting

Use AutoCAD, Project & Excel

Creating & updating “how-to” guides for all functions

 

The candidate must have the following skills & qualities:

Interest in Construction

A mature & confident approach

Experience using Office 365 (and proficient to learn AutoCAD & Project)

Organisation skills & able to use own initiative

Capable of picking up, and applying, new ideas and concepts quickly

Numerical skills (a strong grasp of maths/design & technology subjects are essential)

Excellent time management & attendance record

Communication & customer service skills  

Problem solving skills & able to multi task

Enjoy working in a team environment

Ability to read and interpret technical data

Ability to work in a high-pressure environment

Driving licence

 

To apply for this post, you’ll need:  Minimum Nat 5 Maths, English (Design & Manufacture/Technology qualifications are advantageous) or a Foundation Apprenticeship qualification in Civil Engineering or NC qualification plus a good all-round education.
